Pampa Girl Killed, Two Injured in Car Accident

A seventeen-year-old Pampa girl died Friday night and two others were hospitalized following a one-car accident some 12 miles east of Pampa about 9.

Debra Ann Chase was killed when the car she was driving went out of control on a dirt road near the Hoover community. Vickie Todd and Karen Brantley, passengers with her in the car, were taken to Highland General Hospital where Miss Todd was treated and released. Miss Brantley was reported in good condition at press time.

Debra Ann was born at Ayer. MA on October 27, 1954 and came to Pampa as a small child. At the time of her death, she was a junior student at Pampa High School and a member of Hobart Street Baptist Church.

Funeral services have been set for 3 p.m. Monday at Calvary Baptist Church with the Rev John Thames officiating.  Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors.

She is survived by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Paul Pyran who live in the Cole Addition; her father, Frank D. Chase, Andrews; five sisters, Paula Gayle Pyran of Pampa, Mrs. Terry Weatherford of Artesia, NM, Karla Jean, Trisa and Valrie Chase of Andrews; a brother, Richard O. Pyran of Corpus Christi and her grandmothers, Mrs. Imogene Brown and Mrs. Susie Chase of Pampa.
