James Edward “Jim” Duggan

July 26, 1955 – January 17, 1995

Mr. James ‘Jim’ Edward Duggan, 39, Hoechst Celanese human relations supervisor, died January 18, 1995, at Rowan Memorial Hospital in Salisbury, NC. Memorial services are 11 a.m. Friday at First United Methodist Church in Pampa, TX. Visitation is 7 to 9 tonight at Summersett Funeral Home.

Jim was born in Pampa, graduated from Pampa High School, attended West Texas State University at Canyon where he received his bachelor’s and master’s degrees in music.

He served as band director of the Pampa High School for several years and later was employed by Hoechst\Celanese in Pampa before moving to Salisbury as a human relations supervisor with the company.

Jim was a member of First United Methodist Church in Salisbury and served on many of the church boards. He was a Boy Scout leader and a youth soccer coach.

He was a past member of First Methodist Church in Pampa, where he was a member of the chancel choir and the Weatherly Sunday School class. He had been active in the community and had served as a trustee on the Pampa school board.

Survivors are his wife, Jill; son, Bryan Duggan; daughters, Miss Laura Duggan and Miss Layne Duggan; brothers, Bill Duggan of Missouri City, TX, John Duggan of Beeville, TX; sister, Mrs. Betty Ford of DeSoto, TX.

Memorials may be made to First United Methodist Church, 217 S. Church St., Salisbury, NC 28144; or to the Boy Scouts of America, Troop 442, care of First United Methodist Church, 217 S. Church St., Salisbury, NC 28144.

Burial will be in Memory Gardens of Pampa.
