Marshall James Johnston

July 15, 1955 – March 16, 2023

 

Marshall James Johnston was born July 15, 1955 in Pampa, TX to James Leon and Doris Faye Taylor Johnston. He passed away on March 16, 2023 from complications due to an accident.

Marshall graduated from Pampa High School in 1973. After college, he was off in search of adventure. He spent the next 30-40 years chasing the oilfield around the world through all its ups and downs. He was a Senior Oilfield Inspector. He semi-retired in 2022 to work a little and play a little. The heat, floods and traffic of Houston finally got to him so he moved to Harker Heights. As quoted by Marshall, “Also discovered I ain't quite as young as I think any more.”

He is preceded in death by his parents.

Survivors include his stepmother Melba James; a stepbrother Joel Gilmore and wife Jennifer of Fulshear, TX; an aunt Judy Taylor of Pampa; an aunt Vickie S. Willis and husband Gerry of Roanoke, VA; nieces Skyler and Lily; nephew Ben, extended family and friends.

Cremation is through Crotty Funeral Home & Cremation Services in Belton, TX.
